TouchArcade Game of the Week: ‘Flying Tank’ – TouchArcade

For me, Hexage is one of those developers that harkens back to the early days of the App Store and, in fact, the beginnings of iPhone gaming.I’ve spent many hours playing Totemo, shine, radiation protection, evacuation, reaping…the list goes on. So I was happy to see another new game released by Hexage this week. flying tankand we’re even more pleased that this is another very good game by this developer.

This is a side-scrolling shooter game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting where aliens have arrived on Earth and humanity has decided to welcome them peacefully. While the giant aliens were hanging out in the sky doing their thing, humans continued to do their thing as well. But slowly, the aliens began to consume and take over the Earth’s resources, and humans had lived with the aliens for so long that they were ill-equipped to fight them.

Their solution was…to nuke the entire planet. And let me tell you, it didn’t go as planned. Aliens still reign supreme, and humanity is almost completely wiped out in the process, with the surviving humans splitting into various factions. You, along with a fleet of flying tanks, are like hired goons who blow up aliens and humans alike across 24 different missions, helping to take back Earth from the aliens.

Controllers are supported by flying tank, and the game plays great on them, but this is also an incredibly well designed game for touchscreens. The default controls make sailors and tanks move according to your finger, but relative touch is available as an option, and that’s my preference. Tap or hold the screen to fire the main gun, swipe right to fire special weapons, and swipe down to drop bombs. Yes, in addition to airborne enemies, there are also ground enemies. There is also another special ability (usually a shield) that is mapped to the upward swipe.

The result is an incredibly capable killing machine that maps complex weapons and defensive abilities all to easy-to-use tap and swipe gestures. You have full control over your weapons and can make strategic decisions about when and where to fire them or deploy special abilities, compared to many mobile shooters where ships only fire automatically. , is much more fun. Just guide it through the game. For lack of a better word, this feels like a “real” shooter, not one simplified for touchscreens.

The combat is top-notch, and you’ll never run out of elements to customize and upgrade your fleet of flying tanks. It also has a lot of awesome and unique weapons and enemies that make it stand out from other shooting games. There’s a lot to do in this game, but I also feel like I’m really enjoying the story aspect. Best of all, flying tank You can download it for free and try out 8 missions. If you complete these missions and like them, you have a few different options to unlock the entire game, depending on whether you like the additional perks. Personally, I bought the Deluxe Unlock because I love the extra goodies, but I’m glad there are cheaper options as well. If you love shooting games and a premium mobile gaming experience, you can’t go wrong with this one. flying tank.
