Welcome to the weekend! I’m planning a quick trip to Arizona and New Mexico with my family this weekend. Now consider that it’s colder here than in Ohio. (There are many reasons why I love Ohio State so much, but here’s one more.)

Even though we’re enjoying a false spring and I know it’s going to be even colder in Ohio next weekend, the flowers peeking out of the ground have been making me grin all week.

About this week’s blog: Did you know you can make creamy, rich, and saucy stovetop macaroni and cheese from scratch in the same amount of time it takes to cook boxed macaroni and cheese? And it tastes so much better!

Obviously my family loves mushrooms because I shared three great mushroom recipes on this site this week. If you love mushrooms, this dish is sure to satisfy.

Hungarian mushroom soup is a light, creamy, rich soup with plenty of earthy mushroom flavor, brightened by a squeeze of lemon juice at the end of cooking. This is one of my favorite soups, but I don’t make it very often. This soup is perfect for cold days.

this Stir-fried steak and mushrooms It offers all the flavors I want in a great restaurant steak. Luckily for all of us, that steak was transformed into an easy stir-fry that you can make even on your busiest nights.

simple and flavorful mushroom rice They can be eaten together as a perfect side dish or serve as a meal on their own. If you’re a mushroom lover, you can’t resist having this skillet with mushrooms and rice all by yourself. It’s so good!

these oreo brownie Rich and chewy, these fudge brownies are filled with chopped Oreo cookies in every bite.

The best chocolate ice cream is easy to make with two types of chocolate and real cream. The delicious, rich chocolate flavor in this recipe comes from the combination of both cocoa powder and melted chocolate chips.

pecan sticky buns Made with soft sweet cinnamon rolls dusted with sweet caramelized brown sugar and topped with pecans. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it at the first bite.

What I long for: this creamy shrimp orzo The songs from Julia’s album are great. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many shrimp recipes in my life.

What I’m hearing: love song for losers Written by Lorne Bellow. This is their latest album, but I somehow missed it when it was released a year or so ago. It is wonderful! We’ve been fans of this group for years, and one of our favorite concerts ever was when we saw them at a small venue in Phoenix.

What I’m reading: 500 forgotten people Written by Gregory A. Freeman. I enjoy finding historical novels that tell stories I’ve never heard before. This book tells the story of 500 airmen trapped behind enemy lines in Yugoslavia during World War II, and the local farmers who risked their lives to feed and hide them, and to ultimately rescue them. tells the story of the OSS team that collaborated with.

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is beautiful, whatever is admirable, whatever is excellent, whatever is worthy of praise, think about these things. please.” Philippians 4:8

I hope you have a wonderful week full of little things that make you smile!
