MANILA, Philippines – Meralco pulled the rug out from under Terra Firma on Friday night with a 109-102 victory in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Import Shon Miller led the way for the Bolts with 29 points and 21 rebounds, keeping their chances alive for a fourth and final first-two advantage in the quarterfinals.

“We’re ready and excited for the playoffs. I’m just proud of how they grew through the injuries and player changes,” head coach Luigi Trillo said.

Bon Quinto had 20 points and nine assists off the bench, four other local players scored in double figures, and Meralco finished its elimination round campaign with an 8-3 record.

The Volts will now wait for the result of the Ginebra vs. NLEX game to decide whether they will advance to the knockout stage with a playoff advantage. If they don’t, they will drop to fifth place and need two wins to advance to the next round.
