It may sound like a standard superhero movie, but Madame Web isn’t what we expect from the genre, feeling more like a slasher horror movie than an action movie. . And although the film and many of its characters are based on the Spider-Man comic series, Madame Web is separate from Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe and is instead a movie starring Tom Hardy. It takes place in the same alternate reality as Sony’s Venom movies and the upcoming Kraven movie.

Unfortunately, this different twist on the superhero movie wasn’t well-received by critics and viewers. Go to GameSpot sister site metacritic, Madame Web currently has an “Overall Unfavorable” rating among critics, with an average user score of 1.9.
