But before that, let’s talk about what this dish actually is. This dish has all the elements of a regular sinigang. Vegetables and nutritious ingredients such as kangkong, okra, tomatoes, and eggplant make a fun appearance in this dish. You can make sinigang with almost any type of protein and seafood. I also made this sour soup dish using pork chops.

What are the ingredients?

Before you start cooking, prepare your ingredients set. First of all, what you need is 2 pounds lechon cut into bite-sized pieces.And as mentioned before we use Knorr Sinigang sa Sampaloc Original 22 Gram Pack of 2. Of course, you can’t leave out any vegetables.This long list starts with 1 radish cut, 2 long bell peppers, 10 okra, 2 onions cut into wedges. Please also prepare 2 tomatoes cut into wedges, 3 crushed garlic cloves, and 1 bunch of kang kong or water spinach.

I’m making soup, so I’ll set it aside as well. 1 1/2 quarts water On a plate.obtain 3 tablespoons cooking oil, similarly some fish sauce and ground black pepper In the same way.

How to make lechon sinigang

1. Prepare garlic, onions, and tomatoes

Pour the cooking oil into the cooking pot. Add garlic, onion and tomatoes and sauté until onions are soft.

Now you can add lechon. I’m going to stir fry this too. Do this for 2 minutes.

3. Enhances the flavor of sinigang

Once the water is added, add the Knorr Sinigang sa Sampaloc and stir into the mixture. Then cover the pot and keep everything boiling for 30 minutes. When boiling, use only the lowest heat setting on your stove.

4. Cook the vegetables

Add the radish to the pot and simmer for 5 minutes. You can also put long peppers, okra, green beans, and eggplant inside. Just replace the lid and continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Let’s also add Kangcon. Cook everything for just 2 more minutes.

5. Add the final seasonings

Season with fish sauce and black pepper.

Now you can add fish sauce and black pepper to your taste. that’s all!

How to eat lechon sinigang

Sinigang is best eaten with hot rice.

All that’s left to do is serve delicious lechon sinigang! You can transfer the sinigang in the pot to your favorite serving bowl. It’s delicious as a stew alone, but it’s also delicious with rice. Be sure to try it freshly made and piping hot!

But considering how much we cook, it makes sense that there would be leftovers. But don’t worry, it’s very easy to make lechon sinigang last longer. Just wait for the stew to cool to room temperature. Then pour everything into one or two airtight containers that will fit your plate. After that, the sinigang can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 days.

What if you’re ready to eat again? Easy to reheat! Simply remove the airtight container from the refrigerator and let the dish come to room temperature again. Next, heat the soup in a pot. Once it boils, add the rest of the ingredients, such as vegetables and meat, back to the pot. Turn off the heat and let the parts warm to the stew temperature.

You may be wondering why I separate and reheat the soup and other ingredients in the first place. Well, you can add the rest of the ingredients to the pot later to prevent it from overcooking. This way, you can recreate the quality of freshly made sinigang.

  • Add 2 sachets of Knorr Sinigang sa Sampaloc (original). mix. Cover the pot and continue to boil (using the lowest heat setting on your stove) for 30 minutes.

  • Add radish. Cook for 5 minutes.

  • Add the long peppers, okra, green beans, and eggplant. Cover and continue cooking for 5 minutes.

  • Add the water spinach. Cook for 2 minutes.

  • Season with fish sauce and black pepper.

  • Transfer to a serving bowl. Enjoy warm with rice.
