Still thinking about what to bring to your next big gathering? Look no further and join me in making delicious Crispy Pancit Cantonese Noodles! Pancit Cantonese is a popular food, so many Filipinos can eat it from time to time. But if, like me, you want to know how delicious crunchy texture can be, then this is just the recipe for you. However, keep in mind that it requires a bit of a tedious process to prepare the ingredients. But what I can say now is that what we ended up with is definitely worth it.

What is Crispy Pancit Cantonese Noodles?

Just imagine the classic Cantonese dish and enjoy a level of crispness that is second to none. That’s because the noodles, which are the most important ingredient, have an irresistible texture. Mixing simple, authentic seasonings such as sesame oil and oyster sauce creates just the right amount of saltiness.

It also contains plenty of meat-based protein, making it a very filling meal. I added shrimp and chicken thighs to make it even more delicious. But what else do you need to recreate these crunchy pancit Cantonese noodles?

What can I make this with?

Ingredients for crispy noodles 1

The list starts with 250 grams of pancit canton, the main ingredient. Do not forget about the ingredients that most enhance the taste of the dish. Take 37 grams of Knorr Crab and Corn Soup, 3 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. You’ll need a lot more vegetables, like 1 carrot thinly sliced crosswise, 3 bok choy cut in half, and a bunch of green onion slices.

You will also need 10 washed shrimp, 12 boiled quail eggs, and 1/4 pound of sliced chicken thighs. Also, set aside 2 cups of water and 2 cups of cooking oil.

How to make crispy noodles

Bring water to a boil in a pot. Then add the carrot slices and boil for just one minute. Transfer these to a bowl of ice-cold water. Just let these soak for 2 minutes before placing them on a clean plate. Repeat these steps with bok choy and shrimp. Then set the ingredients aside.

Take cooking oil and pour it into the wok. Heat this up and place the pancit canton in the wok. Fry this until crispy. Slowly mix the noodles while boiling. It may take 30-45 seconds to fry. Let the oil drip from the noodles before transferring to a plate.

First, stir-fry the white parts of the garlic and green onions. Then add the chicken thighs and cook for 2 minutes. Add the shrimp and carrots from earlier and fry for about 30 seconds.

Add the Knorr crab and corn soup to a container with 500ml of water. Mix these together and pour the liquid into a saucepan. Stir everything and continue cooking until the sauce thickens. Pour the mixture into the saucepan and stir. As you simmer further, you will notice that the soup gradually thickens.

Add the quail eggs, oyster sauce, and sesame oil to the pot as well. And season everything with white pepper. Note that it’s important to taste the sauce in this step so you can adjust as needed.

This is where presentation becomes important. Place the bok choy around the plate along with the crunchy Cantonese noodles. Then pour the sauce all over the noodles. Serve immediately while hot. Toss the noodles so they can absorb the sauce. This is what gives this dish its wonderful texture. As you know, it has a soft, slightly chewy texture. I always enjoy every bite 😊.

Let’s stay healthy with crispy noodles! All you have to do is enjoy it while it’s still delicious and warm. It’s hearty and delicious to eat on its own, but if you want to pair it with something, we recommend eating it with meat. Feel free to add fried chicken or fish fillets on the side.

What would you like to serve with this?

Personally, I like the noodles with fried or fresh spring rolls. I almost always grew up eating a combination of pancit and lumpia. This may be because these dishes are often served at parties and special occasions in the Philippines, but I have always thought (until today) that these two go together perfectly. Ta.

Please try it with shumai. By the way, in the Philippines, it is called “Siumai”.

Barbecued pork on skewers (cooked Pinoy style) also complements this dish. Try it yourself and let me know what you think.
