Tomatoes and cheese are a perfect combination. With pizza and spaghetti, the saltiness of the cheese and the subtle sweetness and flavor of the tomato sauce create a wonderful contrast. What if we applied this to a Filipino favorite? This Cheesy Pork Caldereta is the perfect dish if you want to serve a meaty, flavorful stew for lunch or dinner.

What is Cheese Pork Caldereta?

This recipe is basically a classic caldereta, but with some upgrades, especially for cheese lovers. Our Cheesy Pork Caldereta has plenty of grated cheddar cheese to add thickness and of course cheesiness to the stew. But the other thing that really sets this apart is the use of pork ribs. These will make our dish even more hearty and meaty.

Caldereta is generally made with beef in addition to pork. One of my favorites is the pulutan style.
