The original recipe calls for roll dough, butter, cinnamon sugar, and marshmallows.

It’s super easy.

You have to check out the recipe and watch the video. It’s really delicious.

All summer I had an idea floating around in my head that it would be really delicious to make a new version. It’s kind of hard because there’s literally nothing in the recipe, but the idea has popped into my head so many times that I know it’s an inspiration.

When I asked people on Instagram about fall and whether you like the taste of apple or pumpkin, I kept thinking what new ideas I could use.

One post was overwhelmingly APPLE, another was PUMPKIN. seriously? How does that help you know what to make? Lol, that was great. Then I remembered “Apple Empty Tomb Rolls.”they’re even like us apple pie bomb, But there’s no need to fry it!

You see, the Empty Tomb Roll, or as some people call it, the Resurrection Roll (there’s a story to tell the kids while making it, it’s so cute) is a roll with a caramel-like sauce inside. It’s in it and it’s very delicious. good! What goes better with apples than caramel?!

What to Serve with Apple’s Empty Tomb Roll

Actually, wait a minute! Do you know what’s really good? These hot and saucy apple empty grave rolls remind me of apple pie. In fact, he makes two crescent-shaped rolls and fills them with more fillings, so they look exactly like mini hand pies. But hear me out, I’m going way off topic. The point is, it’s like an apple pie, so it’s really delicious served with a scoop of cold, creamy vanilla ice cream.

How to make apple empty grave rolls

This is probably one of the easiest desserts you’ll ever make, and it all starts with apples.

The apples should be microwaved for about 1 minute until they begin to soften. Even if the baking time is long, it won’t become soft, so a microwave oven is useful.

Next, toss the apples with melted butter and mini marshmallows. As you know, old recipes use large marshmallows, but they do not fit into apples. please do not worry. You can also do the same with mini marshmallows.

Add cinnamon sugar to coat.

How to make an empty tomb roll

Watch the video to see how each crescent roll is separated and the dough is pressed out. Many people try to stretch it by using their palms or by lifting the dough, but the dough doesn’t spread evenly when pressed, and when stretched it always ends up being too thin in the middle, often resulting in the dough tearing. You need to move your fingers close together and quickly over the dough to push it out evenly.

Fill with apple filling and fold all sides and corners to seal.

Put the dough in more melted butter, then in cinnamon sugar and roll it very carefully.

Place in a greased muffin tin and bake for just 10 or 12 minutes.

Let cool for 1 minute before digging in!

most important step

Now, this is the most important step. After heating in the microwave, the apple will contain liquid in the bowl. So let it sit and start to cool, draining out all the liquid completely.

If you leave all the liquid there, the sauce won’t thicken as much in the roll, and the dough will be wetter and harder to pinch closed. It’s not life or death, but it’s an easy way to keep things perfect.

Can you make a resurrection roll with biscuits?

In fact, you can make this apple revival using several different dough recipes.

  • homemade dough~ roll cake recipe
  • Packaged biscuits – Grands or other brands of biscuits work well, but the flavor and texture are different.
  • Rhodes Rolls – I love using Rhodes or other frozen roll dough, but be sure to thaw the dough before you start and give it time to rise a bit once you’ve filled it.

Types of crescent rolls suitable for empty tomb rolls

It turns out that not all crescent roll dough works properly. What really works best for this recipe is the original. The ones with butter flakes are a little too buttery and distract from the apples, while others are baked with flakes that make it harder for them to stay in the apples.

The most important thing is not the type you buy, but its temperature. Keep the dough cold until ready to use and extrude it onto a silpat (silicone mat) to prevent it from sticking.

How to explain the resurrection roll

Our original post about the Empty Tomb roll, or resurrection roll if you prefer, is fully explained in our post. If you don’t want to tell a story, that’s okay too, because luckily these turn out to be absolutely drool-worthy even without a story.

Products required for Apple Empty Tomb rules

I don’t often recommend things you need for a recipe, but seriously, don’t leave this page without these items that will make your life a lot easier.

  • Apple peeler, corer and slicer– Only $20, but worth more than every penny.
  • silpat mat– That crescent roll dough is a real beast and sticks to everything. Silpat is a must!
  • USA muffin tin– This muffin pan has light and dark metal, and the crescent rolls brown incredibly quickly, so it’s best to use a pan that doesn’t let that happen even faster. In addition, there is a protrusion on the top, so even if caramel spills, it can be easily wiped off.
